61 years after they released their first single, the Beatles have now released their final single. With the help of AI, Sir Paul McCarthy and Ringo Starr have completed the unfinished work of John Lennon adding in the talented guitar playing of George Harrison to produce Now and Then to the delight of their very many fans worldwide.
As we approach the end of the season in Two Mile House GAA, I am confident that it will not take 61 years, and well before I am 64!, to complete the works in progress at the club. It has indeed been a Long and Winding road, working Hard Day's (and) Night, Eight Days a Week, or so it seemed for committee members but With a Little Help From Our Friends we have achieved so much. From time to time, we may well have thought Here Comes the Sun but more often than not we were standing there with rain pouring down. This unfortunately has slowed down progress on the top pitch but we have ended the year with a fully functioning, well lit, Astro turf pitch.
The current Executive Committee has completed it's term in office and the new committee will be elected at the AGM being held in the clubhouse on Friday November 17th. We look forward to welcoming new faces on to the committee. All full members are entitled to vote on nominations and motions.
Last week saw most of our juvenile members Come Together to celebrate the end of the season. It wasn't the easiest year for coaches and parents as we were down a pitch and home advantage was at a premium. Míle buíochas do gach daoine as bhur gcabhair le sin.
There are still some games to go. Our U23s play at home tomorrow morning against Ballymore. U18 Ladies are in training and ready for their campaign. Some of our U14 hurlers will play as part of South Kildare Hurling in their Championship Final on Sunday in Moorefield while the U16s South Kildare Hurlers play in the Shield final on Monday evening. Go n-éirí an t-ádh libh go léir.
Elon Musk stated yesterday that in years to come, with the help of AI, we may not need to turn up to work as robots will do it for us. Not sure if Joe will still be around to see that happen but I am sure he would happily have a robot draw the numbers for the Lotto that would leave him Free as a Bird every Monday but he likes to keep it real, nothing artificial here!! Having paid for a Ticket to Ride the Lotto rollercoaster, Ewan Mullins is surely happy with his €500 win in the extra Bank Holiday draw. Congratulations Ewan. For now, let's not look at Yesterday but forward to brighter days when we can Get Back to what we do best, All You Need is Love for Teach an Dá Mhíle!💛💚
Hello, Goodbye!
