As we enter the second half of the year we see the even age groups take over from the odd age groups. But before this happens the U15s will finish off their season in style as they head to Abbottstown to represent Club and County in the John West National Féile. Having won their league and County Féile they will now take on Rathgormack of Waterford and San Francisco in their opening matches. This is a huge honour for the team and for the club.  We congratulate everyone involved and wish them the very best of luck.

Heidi Lyons also had a good week as part of the Kildare U16s squad who won a hard-fought battle over Mayo in their All Ireland Semi final.  Congratulations Heidi and the very best of luck in the Final. #ourclubisfamily

So, while our U13s/15s/and 17s worked hard through dark, cold, damp days of winter our U12s/14s/16s/ and Minors will do likewise through what seems will be cold, damp days of summer. This year, for the first time our U12s will take part in full competition.  Challenges will continue as July people come and go, and with a referee shortage, fixtures may be subject to change.

At home this week the U10s will take on Celbridge on Saturday morning while the U8s are up against St Laurences on Monday evening.  The U14s will head to Johnstownbridge for a match against Balyna on Wednesday evening.

It is down to the wire for the Senior Men this Sunday morning as they go to Clogherinkoe for a must win battle, they have done it before so they can do it again, le cunamh Dé!!

To everyone that took part in the "let's get the chairs and tables in" race against the rain last Friday evening, thank you.  A fun evening was had by all, I am informed.  It was great to see so many people there and we look forward to more fun nights out or in.  A big thank you to Casey Trailers for providing the music on the night, Darius did a wonderful job playing from early evening until early morning!!!

After a well-earned rest, Joe will be back doing his best to give away a very large amount of money.  The jackpot now stands at a huge €8600.  I have no doubt both Gus Collins and Carolann Dowling have spent their €25 winnings in the lucky dip draw so they might even have another go.  As ever, you can click on the link below or on Facebook, Twitter, Insta, Clubzap or online. If you haven't been receiving emails your subscription may have run out and with €8600 going a begging, you really should not miss out on this opportunity.

You will have to tune in to Facebook Live on Tuesday evening to see if Joe is looking rested enough, if he is not then he probably won't be there but he will be back at some stage............we hope!!

For the smell of that fresh cut grass, we are in the process of buying a new lawnmower for the club with the aid of the Sports grant that was secured earlier in the year.  In order to draw down that grant we need to have the money in our account, then look to be reimbursed, so we are also beginning the first of our two fundraisers for the year.  The first one is the sale of Club Draw tickets and the second will be the Golf Classic, taking place on Friday August 26th.  As for every club, we are obliged to sell a certain number of Club draw tickets on behalf of the County Board but we benefit from the sale of each ticket.  The four draws will take place over September and October with a car to be won in each draw.  Please see posters and keep an eye on social media for details.  Tickets can be purchased by contacting any member of the Executive Committee or from coaches who will know where to go.  Your support is truly appreciated.

July please,.....

Your blue sky grins

July please try your best to stay!!
