Two Mile House GAA Club are delighted to confirm, that after all costs paid, a total of €40,000 was raised at the Walkathon held last month. We would like to express huge thanks to all Members and friends of our Club who contributed to the huge success of this event both as a fundraiser and a social event for our community.
Thanks to all involved from start to finish, to those who helped prepare the Club for the event, those who helped out over the weekend, to all who walked and participated in matches and to all who financially contributed and raised funds from outside our Club members - míle buíochas gach duine! A special thanks to Bishop Paul for officially opening and blessing the new Astro pitch.
The funds raised will allow the Club to continue the current works and fund all extra works we had planned from this event - fencing & tarmacking areas around Astro, new Ball Stop Nets and upgrading of the Walking Track.
In recognition of their support and contribution to the Walkathon, The Club will be making a Donation of €1,500 from the funds raised to The Dunshane/Camphill Community.
The Club would also like to acknowledge and thank all our Members who have made voluntary contributions over the last 12 months which have made it possible for the Club to undertake the current developments.
Just as important as the funds raised, it was wonderful to see the turnout at the Walkathon & Summer BBQ and to see the whole Club, from young to old, come together and have such a good time - we look to much more of the same in the coming months and years - Hon the House!!
